SIOUX CITY -- Wilma I. Evans, 93, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be Friday, November 12, 2010 in Floyd Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Wilma was born March 16, 1917, in Oregon City, Ore., to Marshall and Marie (Coburn) Pickens. After her father passed away when she was two, her mother moved the family to St. Louis, where she grew up.
Wilma met her husband, Stanley after World War II while working in a U.S. Army office. They married on Oct. 31, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio. Stanley passed away Dec. 28, 2006, in Sioux City.
Wilma enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of P.E.O. and 1st Church of Christ Scientist.
Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Probst and her husband, Scott of Redondo Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, Mark, Marie, Laura and Sara; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Gwen Basile.
