Marjorie K. Fyock, 94, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at a local senior care center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.). A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) with Reverend Roger Madden officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marjorie was born on August 22, 1914 in Onawa, Iowa to William and Katherine (Jurczewsky) Hatt. She grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School.
She married Voyle Fyock on March 28, 1937 in Onawa. The family moved to Mapleton, where Voyle ran a gas station. They later moved to Sioux City where Marjorie was a home maker and mother to her twin boys. After the children were grown, she worked at Olsen Sporting Goods. Marjorie and Voyle co-owned Hawkeye Tackle Company for 20 years.
Marjorie was quite the athlete. She was the state champion in Archery in 1956. She was also an avid bowler, where she bowled on several leagues for many years. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Jack Fyock and wife Mary of Sioux City; grandchildren, Jason Fyock of Sioux City, Lori (Kevin) Karley of Rapid City, SD and Jonathan Moberg of Racine, WI; great grandchildren, Colin, Casey and Cameron Karley; and a sister, Mildred Wilke of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Voyle Fyock, a son, Jerry Earl Fyock; 3 sisters, Pearl, Berniece, M. Rose, and 2 brothers, Albert and Wilfred.
