Bess Ellyn Grove

Bess Ellyn Grove, 68, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Countryside Senior Living following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Mr. Tim Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Bess was born Jan. 11, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Kermit O. and Margaret (Archer) Bierbaum. She graduated from high school in St. Louis, in 1958. After high school, she began working for the FBI in Washington, D.C., then in Kansas City, Mo.

She met her future husband, Ronald R. Grove who also worked for the FBI. They were married May 7, 1963, in Miami, Okla. They were later transferred to Milwaukee, Wis., Rapid City, S.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., Troy Mich., then to Sioux City. She had lived in Sioux City since 1986. She was a part-time secretary for North Central Adjustment Company in Sioux City from the late 1980s to 1996.

She was a member of the FBI Alumni Association.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald R. Grove of Sioux City; two daughters, Cathy S. Thayer of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Stacy E. and her husband, Kenneth Mol of Spencer, Iowa; three grandchildren, Grant and Drew Thayer and Kayla Mol; a sister and her husband, Erma and Kenneth Klepzig of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
