David Hilburn, 56, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 from 8:30 9:30 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A graveside service will then begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Alex T. Washington officiating.
David was born April 20, 1950 to Duane L. and Dorothy M. (Holbrook) Hilburn in Sioux City. He grew up and attended Sioux City Schools where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson in 1969. David then attended Western Iowa Tech where he studied auto mechanics. He worked most of his life as an auto and truck mechanic in Sioux City. Due to his failing health David was forced to quit working at International Truck where he spent many years. Davids passion was his cars and street rods. He enjoyed working on and driving his 36 Ford and 37 Olds coups.
David is survived by his brother Dennis Hilburn and wife Krista, 2 nieces Kaitlynn and Michelle Hilburn, 1 grand nephew Sam Hilburn.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Dwight, and grandparents.
