Wayne L. Horsley, 67, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a lengthy illness.
The body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Pat Roberts, Deacon, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation.
Wayne was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Kingsley, Iowa, to Clarence and Oma (Black) Horsley. He attended Central High School. Wayne was self-employed.
He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Wayne loved to watch NASCAR and to spend time with family.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Jody and Dennis Martin of Sioux City; a son, Curtis Horsley of Maysville, Ky.; a daughter, Penny Parks of Bloomfield, Mo.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Betty Wenborne of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Clair and Phyllis Horsley of California; a brother, Rodney Horsley of Washington; and a sister, Paulette Ehrhardt of Overland Park, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; his mother, Oma; a brother, Larry Horsley Sr.; and his stepfather, Nels Nelson.
