Paul N. Johnson

SIOUX CITY -- Paul N. Johnson, 72, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Paul was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Sioux City, the son of Albert and Delores (Reeves) Johnson. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools.

He married Pearle Lucart on Sept. 6, 1956, in Sioux City. They had five children. Pearle died on Dec. 6, 1992, in Sioux City. Paul married Beverly Allan on Sept. 28, 1995, in Hawaii. He worked for Smurfit-Stone Container for 38 years.

He enjoyed playing golf and watching the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed going to pulmonary rehab.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Sioux City; four sons and their wives, Michael and Laurie Johnson of Hinton, Iowa, Patrick and Robin Johnson of Sioux City, Matthew and Bobbie Johnson of Sioux City, and Kevin and Cheri Johnson of Sioux City; three stepchildren, JoAnn Bockelmann of Smithland, Iowa, LeeAnn Shelton and her special friend, Shenee Davis of Kansas City, Kan., and Steven Shelton and his wife, Jill of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Barbara and Steve Codgill of Sioux City; three sisters-in-law, Sandy Johnson and Diane Johnson, both of Sioux City, and Sandy Buck and her husband, Jim of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, Kindra, Heather, Chad, Trisha, Brittany, Courtney, Matthew Jr., and Lynnzee Johnson, Brandon Jessip, Brittany McLaughlin, Cody Schuldt, Brock McClusky, Chaeli Berg, Brittany Sanders and Israel Fuentes; six stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Kaidync, Kloey and Brooklyn; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pearle; a daughter, Paula Kaye; two brothers, Robert and Jake Johnson; a brother-in-law, Don Lucart; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Lucart.

Pallbearers will be Michael, Patrick, Matthew and Kevin Johnson, Matt Johnson Jr., Cosy Schuldt and Chad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Lucart Jr., Lloyd Lucart, Clark Lucart, Troy and Todd Buck.
