SIOUX CITY -- Deborah Kay (Russell) Kunkel, 54, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital following an illness.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in Logan Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Valerie Heller officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Following the graveside service, there will be a luncheon served at Riverside Lutheran Church, 1817 Riverside Blvd.

Deborah was born July 30, 1954, in Sioux City, the daughter of Wayne and Leota Russell.

On June 13, 1969, she married Jim Kunkel in Elk Point, S.D. She worked various jobs in her life, mostly motel work. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother, Leota; her husband of 40 years, Jim; four children, Adam, Stacy, Penny and Troy; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Terrance Russell and Robert Russell; and two sisters, Diane Fowler and Beverly Olson.

She was preceded in death by her brother; her father; and a niece.
