Alice M. Lundgren

SIOUX CITY -- Alice M. Lundgren, 53, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at a local nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Alan Wicks officiating. Interment will be in Brule Creek Cemetery, rural Elk Point, S.D. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Alice was born Oct. 24, 1956, in Sioux City, to Tom Udell Sr. and Mary Gill. She received her education in the Sioux City Schools, where she earned her G.E.D. Alice married Michael L. Lundgren Sr. on July 19, 1980, in Elk Point, S.D. Alice worked at Mercy Medical Center and at several nursing homes over the years.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Alice enjoyed working and playing bingo at the Boys Club for nearly 20 years. She also loved fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Michael L. Lundgren Sr.; four sons, Michael Lundgren Jr., Steven Lundgren, Derrick Lundgren and Sam Ford; her father, Tom Udell Sr.; two brothers, Tom (Jackie) Udell Jr. and Ron (Kristen) Udell; one sister, Pam (Dave) Bracken; four grandchildren; mother-in-law, LaVonne Lundgren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; one son, Orville Ford Jr.; one daughter, Sarah Ford; three sisters, Deb, Norma and Penny; and father-in-law, Roland Lundgren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lundgren Jr., Derrick Lundgren, Sam Ford, Kevin Lundgren, Dan Lee and Lyle Cain. Honorary pallbearer will be Steven Lundgren.
