Dorothy Irene Maguire

SIOUX CITY -- Dorothy Irene Maguire, 92, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Per her request, the body was cremated. No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Dorothy was born June 25, 1917, in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Marie (Harkleader) Asmussen.

Survivors include her son, Michael Maguire of Sergeant Bluff; a sister, Frances Lillie of Bettendorf, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Billie Asmussen; a niece, Janet Fonseca of Palm Springs, Calif.; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J.T. Maguire; her parents, John and Marie Asmussen; brothers, Arthur, Dick, John and Don Asmussen; and a sister, Evelyn Engh.
