Minnie M McCormick

Minnie M. McCormick, 90, of Sioux City, widow of Judge Lawrence W. McCormick, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Services will be 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Meinen officiating. Private graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Minnie McCormick was born Oct. 2, 1915, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Charles and Sophie (Genotis) Grazis. She grew up in Omaha and came to Sioux City in 1941.

She married Lawrence W. McCormick in 1939. He died March 29, 1994, in Sioux City.

She had been a member of Blessed Sacrament for many years.

Survivors include five children, Patrick C. McCormick and his wife, Shirley of Sioux City, John F. McCormick and his wife, Linda of Monterey Park, Calif., Kathleen G. Shaw and her husband, Alan of Columbia, S.C., Michael W. McCormick and his wife, Eileen of Sioux City, and James B. McCormick of Bowie, Md.; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Jeanette Birmingham; and two grandchildren, Matt and Joseph McCormick.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
