SIOUX CITY -- Loy L. McPherson, 73, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Deacon Patricia Roberts of Calvary Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Loy was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Sioux City, the son of Lewis and Estella (Chaussee) McPherson. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy.
He married Margaret on April 25, 1959, in Sioux City. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He also worked for Sioux City Night Patrol for 20 years.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He looked forward to his annual fishing trips with his son.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Sioux City; a son, Jeff (Peggy) McPherson of Sioux City; a daughter, Colleen Miller of Sioux City and Jim Miller; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia.
