A Lucile Miller

November 16, 1915 — June 4, 2006

Lucile Miller, 90, of Sioux City died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier of Augustana Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Anna Lucile Margaret Miller was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Sioux City, the daughter of Gustave E. Soderberg and Florence T. (Johnson) Soderberg. She always felt the love of her parents. During her "growing up years" there were many trying times, but there was always love and respect. She had a good life with her singing and music in her younger years and enjoyable working years at a Sioux City bank after high school graduation until she was married.

She married Ryal N. Miller on Sept. 10, 1948, in Chamberlain, S.D. Then came many memorable years with her husband. The couple had the opportunity to make worldwide travels. She wrote several diaries of these travels. She was so grateful, she had the opportunity to visit different places before there was so much fighting and destruction throughout the world. Her travels covered all of the continents. Mr. Miller passed away in May 1963.

God blessed her with many happy and unforgettable memorable years. Even though some years were very difficult years, God gave her many lovely enjoyable, happy and peaceful years, which have become precious years.

She was a confirmed member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Rose Crois Chapter and the Sioux City Women's Club.

Survivors include her brothers and their wives, Marshall E. and Mary Anne Soderberg of Grand Rapids, Mich., John S. and Barbara Soderberg Sr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles W. and Carolyn Soderberg of Ada. Mich.; several nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and other dear ones.
