Patricia Kay O'Connor

Patricia Kay "Pat" O'Connor, 47, of Yankton died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton, after a year battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Patricia was born July 27, 1960, in the Leeds area of Sioux City, the daughter of Earl C. and Cora J. (Couch) Hesse. The family moved to Hinton, Iowa, and Pat graduated from Hinton High School with the class of 1978. She received two associate degrees as a surgical tech and registered nurse through Western Iowa Tech Community College. Pat was employed as a traveling nurse.

She enjoyed the outdoors and camping. Pat loved traveling and motorcycle rides.

Survivors include her son, Nathan O'Connor of Ankeny, Iowa; her parents, Earl and Cora Hesse of Sioux City; a brother, David and his wife, Marlene Hesse of Sioux City; and special friend, Larry Kralicek of Yankton.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
