Quinndell H. Olson Hendrix, 90 of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at a Sioux City Hospital. Funeral services for Quinndell will be on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. John Woodford at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel located at 6200 Morningside Ave. Burial will be at the Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 3-5 p.m. with family present from 4-5 p.m. and a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Quinndell was born on July 2, 1918 to Harry and Meta K. (Jorgensen) Ebbesen in Viborg, SD. She was married to F. Harlan Olson in 1938 in Vermillion, SD where they lived until 1949. They owned and operated the Bronson Feed and Hardware together until Harlan died in 1990. She kept the store until 1992. Quinndell married John Hendrix in 1992 and enjoyed seventeen years of married life with him.

Quinndell enjoyed singing and whistling tunes to the bands that played at the senior center. She was involved with the drama group and choir at the Senior Center. She was a long time member of the Bronson Community Presbyterian Church and most recently a member of the Good News Baptist Church. She also spent her time volunteering at the Rebecca Lodge, League of Women Voters, PTA, and the Siouxland Senior Center hosting dancer with her husband John for 14 years.

She is survived by her husband John Hendrix of Sioux City, daughter Rosemary (Jack) Carr of Buffalo, WY; son Fred H. (Elizabeth Brackett, M.D.) Olson III of Minneapolis, MN; son Richard (Carol Watson) Olson of Minneapolis, MN; step daughters Rosie (Bob) McNertney of Sioux City; and Susie (Jeff Prichard) OKane of LaVista, NE; step sons Jim (Cindy) OKane of Sioux City; John OKane of San Pedro, CA; and John S. Hendrix of San Diego, CA; 5 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters.
