Willard W. Pixler

Charles W. "Willard" Pixler, 85, of Sioux City died Monday, July 14, 2008, at his residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Chaplain Mike Inman and the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Willard was born June 16, 1923, in Ticonic, Iowa, the son of Charles Wells and Millie (Harris) Pixler. He married Inez Wright on Dec. 27, 1958, in Sioux City. He was employed with Sorn Hanson Construction for nine and a half years and Sioux By Products for 28 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Miller of Turin, Iowa; a son-in-law, Bob of Toronto, S.D.; grandchildren, Kevin Miller of Bouge Chitto, Miss., Stacey and Phil Dean of Sioux Falls, S.D., Kathy Culliton of Onawa, Iowa, Rhonda Anderson of Sioux Falls, Karmen Chandler of Onawa and Cheryl Anderson of Springfield, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Casie Anderson, Rachel Hoyt, Cassie Chandler, Jackie, Kyle, Daniel and Michell Anderson, Adam and Curtis Miller, Derrick, Cassidy and Coty Anderson; sisters-in-law, Doris and Roseal Pixler; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Lucian, Bud, Kenneth and Orville; sisters, Mildred Jones, Dorthy Davis and Valeria Oddo; a son, Edwin Miler; and a daughter, Esther.
