Janice Evans, 49, of Sioux City passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 from a long battle with depression at her residence. Per her wishes, her body will be cremated and memorial services for Janice will be on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. till service time on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Janice was born on July 23, 1961 in East Moline, IL to John Robert and Ruth (Dahlin) Nelson. She graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, IL and spent 2 years taking classes at Lutheran Hospital for Respiratory Care in East Moline, IL. She worked lately in sales at Kohl's and as a display representative for Proctor and Gamble. She loved the outdoors, gardening, doing crafts, spending time with her boys, helping others and volunteering. Janice is survived by her husband Steve Evans of Sioux City; 2 sons Cory Evans and Nick Evans of Sioux City; 2 step sons Michael Evans of Alexandria, LA; and Brandon Scott of Sioux Falls, SD; 6 step grandchildren; father Robert Nelson of East Moline, IL; a brother Jim Nelson of Tucson, AZ; and 2 sisters Julie Adams of Davenport, IA and a twin sister JoAnn Nelson of East Moline, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother. Memorials may be directed to the family for her son's.
