Henrietta H. Stine

SIOUX CITY -- Henrietta H. Stine, 91, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb.15, 2012 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Torey Lightcap officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family present 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com . Henrietta was born July 3, 1920 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Henry N. and Mary Louise (Hollister) Feyder. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1938. She was a 1942 graduate of Iowa State University where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. On July 31, 1943 she married John L. "Jack" Stine in Sherman, Texas. He died June 7, 1952 in Sioux City. Henrietta's 30 year teaching career for the Sioux City Community School District included Hunt Elementary, Bryant Elementary, North Junior and North High School. She touched the lives of many grateful students. Henrietta was a longtime member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, PEO Chapter LX, the N.E.A. and the I.S.E.A. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting and baking cookies for her family. Survivors include a son, Jon Stine and his wife, Pat of Sioux City and a daughter, Julie Stevens and her husband, Craig of Dakota Dunes, SD. Also surviving are: 7 grandchildren, Meggan Beck and her husband, Chris, Molly Rosenmeyer and her husband, Travis, Jon Stine II, Katie Harms and her husband, Curt, Adam Stevens and his wife, Amy, Todd Stevens, and Sarah Stevens and her fiancé, Luke Miller, 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Virginia Larsen of Mount Vernon, Iowa, a brother-in-law, Walter Brousard of Laguna Niguel, CA, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Betty Hine and husband Dick, her sister Gloria Feyder, her sister Peggy Brousard, and her brother-in- law Kurt Larsen. Pallbearers will be Jon Stine II, Chris Beck, Travis Rosenmeyer, Adam Stevens, Todd Stevens, Curt Harms and Luke Miller. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She will be deeply missed.
