Malathy Ramakrishnan

BURBANK, S.D. -- Malathy Ramakrishnan of Burbank passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, S.D. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City, with cremation to follow. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Malathy was born in Tamil Nadu, India. She came to the United States and made her home in Burbank for the last 20 years. She enjoyed work as a CPA at Quam and Berglin until her death. She was a founding board member of the Siouxland India Cultural Association. She is survived by her husband, Kumoli Ramakrishnan; their son, Kaushik of New York and his wife, Janet and their daughters, Vani of Minneapolis and Varsha of Nashville, Tenn.; her sisters, Rajalakshmi, Savitri, and Lalitha; and her brother, Jayaraman, all of India. She was preceded in death by her parents, S. Subramaniam and S. Dharmambal.
