Margaret O. Fjordbak, 95 of Sioux City, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, November 12, 2012. Visitation, with the family present, will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with a family service to begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening with Margaret's son, Reverend Jim Fjordbak officiating. Abiding by family wishes, cremation will follow Thursday's services. Margaret was born on April 15, 1917 in Storm Lake, Iowa to John and Jennie (Johanson) Swanson. She graduated from Storm Lake Public Schools. Margaret married Dale Fjordbak on November 26, 1945 in Mexia, Texas. She enjoyed being a farmer's wife in the Storm Lake area, and also worked as a kitchen aid in the local nursing home. When the family relocated to the Sioux City area, Margaret worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Luke's Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing, and various sporting events. She enjoyed baseball, football, softball, and volleyball, and was proud to attend those sports of her grandson and great-grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her daughter Mary Stubbs of Sioux City; son Reverend James Fjordbak and his wife Barb of Riverside, Iowa; grandson Troy Stubbs; great-granddaughters Morgan Stubbs and Emma Stubbs;great-grandson Austin Stubbs; special granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Stubbs; sister Gunhild Saathoff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, sister Edith Mudge and her husband Wallace, sister Alice Seivers and her husband Wilbert, brother Einer Swanson, and son-in-law Jack Stubbs.
