Laura L. Huffman, 96, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be on the Omaha Valley Cemetery in Rural Homer, NE. Arrangements are by Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Laura was born on June 23, 1916 in Emerson, NE to Frank and Laura (Gigear) Thompson. She graduated from Winnebago High School. She worked for many years at Means Clean Towel Service. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work, traveling and had a great love for spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life member of the Siouxland Senior Center. She is survived by her 2 daughters Barbara (Ron) Lappi of Dallas, OR; Jenness (Jim) Pintar of Pinesdale, MI; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Kym Hummel for her care giving these past years to Laura. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Russell, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
