Blanche A. Corey, 94, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at a local care facility. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Thomas Orthodox Church with Reverend Lucas Rice officiating. Visitation will Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 7:30 P.M. with a Trisagion service held at 8 P.M. at the church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Blanche was born the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Nehius) Eilers on August 31, 1918 in Geddes, South Dakota. She married Thomas T. Corey in Sioux City. The couple owned and operated the Corey Motel for 40 years. Blanche was a lifelong Sioux City resident. She enjoyed playing cards. She was a member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church. Blanche is survived by one son, Larry Corey of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Tim, Jeff, T.J., and Julie; and one daughter-in-law, Barbara. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; one son, Tom Corey, Jr.; one grandson, Jim; one great-granddaughter, Jillian; and two sisters, Charlotte and Marie.
