Boniface H. Boever, 79 of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at a local hospital. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 t St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Erpelding as Celebrant A private family interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be this evening, Friday, November 23rd from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with family present at 6:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. this evening Boniface was born on April 23, 1933 in Granville, Iowa to Herman and Lillian (Niichell) Boever. He graduated from Remsen St. Mary's Catholic High School before serving his country in the United States Army. Boniface enlisted in December of 1954, served two years during the Korean Conflict, and received his honorable discharge in December of 1956. He moved to Sioux City in 1958, and began his 42 year career with Aalf's Manufacturing, retiring in 2000 from the shipping department. Boniface married Karen Jarrett on June 25, 1966 in Sioux City. Boniface was a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a 4th Degree Knights-of-Columbus. He enjoyed many years of volunteering at Bingo at St. Josephs Church and at the Sioux City Senior Center. Boniface was an avid sports fan, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. Boniface is survived by his wife Karen of Sioux City; daughter Stephanie Hames and her husband Roger of South Sioux City, Nebraska and their children Cole and Trevor, son Todd Boever and his wife Heidi of Overland Park, Kansas and their children Aiden and Alexa, son Jason Boever and his wife Tracy of Sioux City and their children Jack and Cael, and daughter Missy Thelen and her husband Chris of Vermillion, South Dakota and their children Drew, Dylan, and Grace; siblings June Schiltz of Remsen, IA, Pat Boever of Le Mars, IA, Jim (Phyllis) Boever of Davenport, IA, Tom (MaryAnn) Boever of Dubuque, IA, Rebecca (Dean) Norris of Arcadia, CA, Judy (Bill) Pover of Farley, IA, and Molly Boever of Le Mars, IA; brother-in-law Earl Lange; sister-in-law Fern Boever; and numerous nieces and nephews. Boniface was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Maurice and Donald Boever, sisters Mary Lee Lange and Marjorie Willcoxson, sister-in-law Marce Boever, brother-in-law Rich Schiltz and several nieces and nephews.
