Keith G. Pomeroy

Keith G. Pomeroy, 79 of Pender, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 peacefully at his home. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the United Church of Pender with Pastor Steve Breazier officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pender. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30th at the church in Pender with family present at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com Keith was born on July 14, 1933 in Spring Ranch, Nebraska, son of Theodore and Edith (Davis) Pomeroy. He graduated from Fairfield, Nebraska. Keith enlisted in the United States Army at the conclusion of the Korean Conflict, and received his honorable discharge a little over a year later. Keith married his wife Sandra (Clausen) on November 14, 1968 at the Omaha Benson Church in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a member of the United Church of Pender, where he served as a deacon and council member. Keith was a manager at Morrison & Quirk for over 30 years until his retirement in 1997. He loved fishing, hunting, and being around his grandchildren. Keith enjoyed giving his grandkids rides on his lawn mower, going to coffee, and cheering on the Huskers. He was a member of the Pender V.F.W. Keith is survived by his wife Sandy of Pender, Nebraska; daughter Heide (Pomeroy) Grote and her husband Dan and their children Nicholas, Makayla, Tyler, and Madison; son Steven Pomeroy and his wife Cathy and his son Jake; grandson Chris Schilling; brother Darrel and his wife Mary; sister Julie and her husband Harvey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene Pomeroy, sister Carol Congrove, and daughter Cathy (Pomeroy) Schilling.
