Marcella M. "Mary" Wilson, 89, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at a local care facility. Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Trimble United Methodist Church with Pastor Martha Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. Friday, August 16, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Mary was born July 28th, 1924 in Odebolt, Iowa the daughter of John and Rachael (Bailey) Calhoun. She married Ray J. Wilson on December 9th, 1941 in Dakota City, Nebraska. To this union, three children were born. Ray preceded her in death on September 11, 1998 in Sioux City. Mary worked as a telephone operator before staying home to raise her children and run a daycare. After the children were grown, she worked for the school system in the lunch program. She also was a wonderful seamstress for many people. Mary loved to camp and fish, she and her husband were avid CB Radio Operators, and she also enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting but her greatest love was being a grandma and helping raise her grandchildren. She also loved her dog Tiger. Mary was a volunteer for the Gospel Mission and an active member of Trimble United Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her children Betty and husband James III Blake of Brighton, CO, Larry and wife Mary Wilson of Sioux City, and Judy and husband Richard Dunbar of Pasco, WA; eight grandchildren: James (Karen) Blake IV, Kimberly (Troy) Youngstrom, Bradley Wilson, Laura (Tony) DeWall, Melissa (Dave) Mansfield, Cellie Lenig, Travis (Erica) Lenig, and Michael (Kellie) Wood; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.
