David J. O'Neill, 62, of Jackson, NE passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his residence . Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, Nebraska with Father Paul Albenesius officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 A.M. Dave was born October 2, 1951 in Sioux City; he was the son of J. Erwin and Reta (Leonard) O'Neill. Dave grew up in the Willis, NE area and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Emerson, NE. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Dave was an equipment operator and worked for several businesses over the years. He enjoyed boating and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Survivors include his father and step mother, Erwin and Marguerite O'Neill of Jackson, NE; his sisters and brother, Vickie O'Neill and her husband Larry Jacoson of Wayzata, MN, Debbie Smith and her husband Doug of Lee's Summit, MO, Dawn O'Neill of Oxnard, CA, Larry O'Neill of Jackson, NE; 3 nieces and a nephew. David was preceded in death by his mother, Reta. Pallbearers will be Rich Chamberlain, Rocky Nagel, Chuck Wenthers, Dale Hackney, Dale Morrow and Charlie Toy.
