Kim Gail Kruithoff, 52, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at a Sioux City Hospital due to complications from pneumonia. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Graceland Park Cemetery with Rev. Del Olivier officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Kim was born on October 23, 1961 in Sioux City to Andrew H. and Alice (Scheel) Kruithoff, Jr. He graduated from West High School in 1980. He was employed for a short time with Goodwill Industries achieving graduate of the year once. He later went to work for M&T Can and also worked for some time for Uncle John Records. Kim had a deep passion for music. His love of music landed him a disc jockey job at Morningside College for KMSC from 1980 to 1986. He also enjoyed art. Kim was wonderful artist and cartoonist and often displayed his work in Sioux City during Art Walk. He was also the proud past president of the Abbot and Costello Fan Club receiving and sending numerous letters each month and getting the privilege to actually speak to the stars himself. Kim is survived by his mother Alice Kruithoff and brother Kelly Kruithoff both of Sioux City; aunts Irene Kruithoff of Sioux City and Olive Rexoat of Osceola, IA. He was preceded in death by his father.
