Annabelle Jeanette Wright, 83, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Funeral Home. Annabelle was born on March 6, 1931 in Sioux City to Chris and Edna Mae (White) Karras. She graduated from Central High School in 1950. She was married to James Wright on February 17, 1950 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2011 in Sioux City. Annabelle enjoyed playing cards and doing embroidery work for family and friends. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed being around people. She had a deep love for animals; every animal she took care of had a name and was well taken care of. She never missed a family event and when family moved, often Annabelle and James would move just to be closer to them. She enjoyed gambling with her friends in her later years. She is survived by her nieces Christine Yarte of Sioux City; Patricia (Tim) Hodgins of Sioux City; Pamela (Douglas) Rowbury of Sioux City; Laurie (Russ) Knapp of Sioux City; Lynn (Warren) Knapp of Hinton; and Carolyn Bradt of WI; special sister-in-law Nora (Bill) Johnson of Sioux City; brother-in-law Leo Wright of CA; sister-in-law Marge Wright of CA; and brother-in-law Don Johnson of CA; several nieces and nephews and close friends Terry (Jerry) Romero of CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Howard and Harold, niece Annie and a nephew Howie.
