He spent his early years in Southern California where he met and married his wife Marcia. With their two children, Andrée and Paul, the couple moved back to Sioux City in 1952 to pursue Leoʼs dream of building and operating a miniature golf course. Leo loved his work - he believed his mission in life was to see that everyone had a good time, and the Siouxland Miniature Golf Course provided him with that opportunity. After Leo retired in 1988, he enjoyed sketching portraits of friends and strangers at the food court in Southern Hills Mall as well as painting landscapes of the surrounding farmland which he so loved. When Marcia passed, he moved to Minneapolis to reside with his daughter Andrée. The last four years of his life were spent at Heritage of Edina Assisted Living, where he loved to entertain his fellow residents with his jokes and spontaneous singing episodes. He was much loved by staff and residents, and we will always be grateful to the wonderful care he received. Survivors include his daughter, Andree Tracey; nieces, Cheryl Erickson, Betty Jo (Keith) Mason, Julie (Dennis) Johnson, Jill (Jim) Pellitier, Vickie (Ken) Gerbach; and nephews Andy (Jane)Trasowech, Scott Smith (Mary Jo); many grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as his beloved dog Suzi-Q. Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia; son, Paul; parents, Julius and Agnes Trasowech; sisters, Elizabeth Erickson and Emma Mulkey; brother Paul Trasowech (Josephine); and niece, Diane Anderl. The family will forward any memorials to the Allina Hospice Foundation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Leo will be greatly missed, but his loving, independent and exuberant spirit will be forever remembered.
