Ruth E. Irwin, 75 of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at First Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wed. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Ruth was born March 4, 1939 in Oto, IA; she was the daughter of Arthur and Sarah (Green) Barnacle. The family came to Sioux City when Ruth was a child. She attended Sioux City Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1957. Ruth married Leslie H. Irwin August 31, 1957 in Sioux City. She worked for Tupperware and the Riverside Day Care but mainly was a homemaker and enjoyed watching and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth also enjoyed biking with the grandkids and camping. Survivors include her husband Leslie of South Sioux City; 2 sons: Kirk Irwin (Sue Ellen) of Bondurant, IA and Kevin Irwin (Karen) of Sioux City; 2 sisters: Beverly Montagne of Sioux City and Betty Jackson of Studio City, CA; 3 grandchildren: Amber Love, Jason Irwin and Jena Irwin; 3 step grandchildren: David, Daniel and Kevin Corn; 4 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Pallbearers will be Rusty and Jeff Montagne, Mike Ingram, Jason Irwin, Kory Love and Pat Bird
