Sharon R. Church

Sharon R. Church, 73, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City. Visitation will be Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Vigil service at 7 P.M. all at the church. Burial will be held at a later date. Sharon was born the daughter of Elmer and Geraldine (Mongar) Provost on May 23, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School. Sharon married Samuel Church on December 8, 1962 in Sioux City. She worked for Gateway, Julias Valley Manor, and Wal-Mart. She enjoyed reading, attending church, gardening, and Saturday night poker games. She liked going to movies with her children and spending time with her grandchildren. Sharon was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Courage Homes. Sharon is survived by four children, Christopher (Judy) Church of Sioux City, Lori (Micheal) Lias of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Steven (Tricia) Church of Sioux City, and Robbie Church of Sioux City; one brother, LeRoy Provost of Sioux City; two sisters, Kathy Bubb and Sheila Lias both of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel; two brothers, Steve and John; and one sister, Carol.
