Kent P. Furlong, 53 of North Sioux City, SD. passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City. Rev. Donald Ries will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 Tuesday at the Church. Kent was born February 14, 1961 in Sioux City; he was the son of Philip and Donna (Shank) Furlong. Kent grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Blessed Sacrament Grade School and Heelan High School. He attended the University of Iowa and then graduated from Wayne State College. Kent married Lisa Martin June 5, 1992 in Sioux City. He worked with his father at the Furlong Law Office for many years. Kent then worked for Tyson Meats (IBP), BPI, URS Corp and XL Foods. Kent enjoyed boating and fishing at Lake Okoboji, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls and spending time with his family, friends and his dog, sadie. Survivors include: his wife: Lisa of North Sioux City, SD; a daughter: Lauren Furlong and a son: Carter Furlong both of North Sioux City, SD; his mother: Donna Furlong of Sioux City; his brothers and sisters: Lynn Lamoureaux and her husband Jim of Omaha, NE, Mike Furlong and his wife Rebecca of Leawood, KS, Dave Furlong and his wife Margee of Dakota Dunes, SD, Lori Wilson and her husband Dr. Bernard "B.J." Wilson of Lincoln, NE; nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Michael, Caitie, Sidney, Porter, Sophie, Jack, Joey, Ben and Andrew. Kent was preceded in death by his father, Philip and his grandparents
