Hazel F. Schmitt

Hazel F. Schmitt, 92, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at a local care facility. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. with family present 5 to 7 P.M. with a Rosary at 6 P.M. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Hazel was born the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Walsh) Foltz on August 23, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa. She married Edward Schmitt, Jr. on June 29, 1959 in Sioux City. Hazel was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. She also liked family gatherings. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Hazel's family would like to thank her guardian angels here on Earth, Diane, Leah, and Shannon. Hazel is survived by her son, Tim Schmitt of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; two brothers, Bobby and Clifford; and two sisters, Peggy and Hazel's twin, Helen.
