Florence L. "Flossy" Blair, 89, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Sunrise Retirement Community following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer 's disease. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A. M. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. There will be a rosary recited at 6:30 P.M. Friday and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Friday all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Flossy was born November 21, 1925 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Cyril (Cy) and Florence (Stewart) Murray. Flossy grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Cathedral High School. She married Clair L. Blair April 3, 1943 in Sioux City. He passed away on April 24, 2010 in Sioux City. Flossy was a member of St Boniface Catholic Church, the Sioux City Women's Club and she sang in the both choirs. She also sang in the St. Jean's Catholic Church choir while that Church was open. She loved to knit and crochet. The most important things in her life where her family and Church. She had an everlasting love for her husband, Clair, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Flossy is survived by her children: Teresa "Terry" Duzik and her husband Don, Thomas Blair, Laurie Allner and her husband Mike, Bradley Blair and his wife Joanne, Julie Peiffer and her husband Jeff, Matthew Blair and his wife Terry O'Brien all of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren: Jane Miller, Ann Stanek, Nancy Huber, Dave Duzik, Sara Blair, Ben Blair, Matt Allner, Mitch Allner, Curtis Allner, Andrew Blair, Katie Canoles, Joe Swanson, Teddy Swanson, Shannon Newberg, Ryan Blair and Bridgett Blair, 30 great grandchildren; her sister: Leona Simmons of Danbury, IA. Flossy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clair, son: Timothy Clair, grandson: Shawn Blair and her sister: Shirley Kincanon.
