SIOUX CITY | Davon James Kieler, 43 of Sioux City passed on Jan. 3, 2015, in a car accident. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. He was born to Ed and Mary Kieler of Sioux City on Feb. 22, 1971. After graduating from Sioux City North High School in 1989, Davon enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he pursued his passion for carpentry and worked in a multitude of construction jobs. Thereafter, he moved to Houston, Texas, to attend school at The Ocean Corporation, where he became an Industrial Radiographer Engineer. His career lead him to endeavors in the oil and gas industries in Texas and North Dakota. Davon was residing in Sioux City while in transition prior to his passing. Davon was a lover of sports and the outdoors. Family and friends will remember him as an avid hunter and fisher, talented taxidermist and selfless soul. Those who knew Davon would say he would give anyone the shirt of his back without question. Survivors include his parents, Ed and Mary Kieler of Sioux City; 3 brothers, Eddie Kieler, III of Scottsdale, AZ, Brett Kieler of North Sioux City, SD and Brad (Deena) Kieler of Scottsdale, AZ; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Stacey and his grandparents. The Kieler family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to those who have comforted them in this time of need.
