Mary Clare Weber age 87, formerly of Sioux City and Anthon, IA, passed Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Des Moines, IA. The body was cremated and memorial services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon, IA. A visitation will be held Friday evening January 9, 2015, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church and there will be a scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M. Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Mary was born June 24, 1927 on a farm near Anthon, the daughter of John and Vera (Clark) Dixon. A graduate of St. Joseph's school in Salix, IA in May of 1945 Mary attended Morningside College and taught school for three years in rural Woodbury County. She married Glen W. Weber September 18, 1947 and farmed 27 years near Anthon. Mary worked for the Woodbury County Extension Services for 4 years and also worked at the Grain Elevator in Anthon for 8 years and was employed by Marian Health Center (Mercy Hospital) in Sioux City for 15 years. She enjoyed robust health for much of her life and was an avid walker. Mary is survived by two sons, Stephen Weber, San Diego, CA, Bradley (Lina) Weber, Taylor, TX and three daughters, Linda Podewils, Altoona, IA, Monica (Paul) Strong, Lawton, IA and Barbara (Larry) Lykins, Altoona, IA, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
