SIOUX CITY | Mary Frances Felsing, 88, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be the hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Mary was born March 12, 1926 in Sioux City, the daughter of Roy G. and Olivia M. (Fosvick) Jones. She attended Whittier Elementary Grade School and East Junior High School until moving to Berkeley, CA with her parents in 1940. She attended school in Oakland and Berkeley. She served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mary returned to Sioux City and married Victor R. Felsing in Elk Point, SD. Vic passed away Nov. 15, 1994 in Sioux City. Mary worked at Wincharger for 12 years and then she was a grocery store checker for 30 years, retiring in 1991. She loved social gatherings and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include 2 daughters, Dianna Van Osdel and Vickie Felsing of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Dennis and Joan Felsing of Ocean View, NJ; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Van Osdel-Grote, Jody Van Osdel-Kenndy, Brent Van Osdel, Dennis Felsing, Jr., Christina Felsing-Gansert, Tamara Felsing-Adams, Kathleen Felsing-Pratt; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leroy Jones, Jr. and wife Lisa. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her name to the Police Unity Tour Chapter 2, P.O. Box 8, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243.
