Pastor Al Weiss

Pastor Al Weiss, age 61, of Sioux City, IA, went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2015. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church (4420 Cheyenne Blvd.) in Sioux City. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com Al was born September 20, 1953, in Battle Creek, MI to Richard and Dora Jeanne Weiss. He married Juanita Bowman on February 14, 1975 in South Sioux City, NE. Together they pastored for 40 years in Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa, including 22 years as Lead Pastor of First Assembly of God in Sioux City, IA. He also served on the Presbyter Board of the Iowa Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. In January of 2015 he retired from full-time ministry. He loved greatly. He loved God. He loved his family. He loved his friends, of which he had many. He is dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife, Juanita; three beloved children, Bryan and wife Kim of Rochester, MN; Brandon and wife Heather of Clever, MO; Ben of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Lainee, Owen and Charlie; and sister, Patricia Weiss of Sioux City, IA.
