Robert Kuhlman, age 68, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Robert's family will receive friends on Wednesday after 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Robert W. Kuhlman, son of Alvin and DeLoris (Hutcheson) Kuhlman, was born February 24, 1947, in Onawa, Iowa. He grew up in Moorhead and Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School. He then worked for Iowa Beef in Denison before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged in 1970, he returned to Iowa and worked for Iowa Beef in South Sioux City, Nebraska. The company was later bought by Tyson, from where he retired after 43 years. Robert was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed watching sports on television. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, horses, and traveling to Deadwood, South Dakota, with his wife. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandson. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. He is survived by his wife Lynn Kuhlman of Sioux City; two daughters: Bobbette (Ron) Norby and Tiffney (Rob) Leckband, all of Sioux City; four grandchildren: Mandie (Jeremy) Mayo; Allie (Andre) Norby; Cory Leckband and Casie (Tyler) Leckband; one great-grandchild: Maddox; a great-grandbaby on the way; two brothers: Terry (Jane) Kuhlman of Ridgecrest, California and Tim (Jennie) Kuhlman of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister Pat (Ken) Lane of Rock Port, Missouri; and by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
