James L. Vanderham, 76 of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his residence. James was cremated and memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Deacon Patricia Roberts officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Reserve. James was born June 7, 1938 in Hawarden, IA; he was the son of Roy and Marcella (Dalgliesh) Vanderham. He grew up in Sioux City and joined the U.S. Navy. James married Janet Mann and they had 3 daughters, Jamie, Jackie and Jerri. James loved to spend time with his daughters and his friends and play golf. He loved animals and his generosity and kindness were his best attributes. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his 3 daughters: Jamie Hutmacher and her husband Rick of Yankton, SD, Jackie Girard of Sioux City and Jerri Tinker of Sioux City; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Peterson, Fred Tinker, Bobbie Jo Tinker, Aaron Hutmacher, Jennifer Hutmacher and Emil Girard; 5 great grandchildren; a sister: Mary MCCleery of Las Vegas, NV. James was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marcella Vanderham and 4 siblings: George, Bill and Francis Vanderham and Sally Mote. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Siouxland Humane Society.
