Claire "Marty" A. Johnson

Claire A. "Marty" Johnson, 73 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at a local care facility after s short illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Rev. James Travis will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Marty was born October 8, 2015 in Oakland, NE; he was the son of Marvin and Almarita (Moore) Johnson. Marty grew up on the family farm near Rosalie, NE and graduated from Rosalie High School. He married Katherine M. Porsch January 18, 1965 in Sioux City. Marty worked for the City of Sioux City for 15 years. He owned and operated J & J Towing for about 12 years and also worked as a dispatcher for AA Action Taxi. Marty did hobbies in his garage. He loved to build things out of wood and metal and repair radios. He enjoyed motorcycles, playing cards and fishing. Survivors include his wife Katherine of Sioux City, 4 sons: Marvin Johnson (Dena) of Derby, KS, Shaun Johnson (Jeni) of Sioux City, William Johnson (Shawn) of South Sioux City, NE, Robert Johnson (Becky) of Sioux City; his sisters and brother: Kathleen Mueller of Omaha, NE, Karen Tew (Mike) of Sioux City, Roger Johnson (Sharleen) of Sergeant, Bluff, IA; 2 grandchildren: Sadie Fletcher (Adam) and Alea Suing (Tim) and a great grandson Lucas Fletcher.
