Marvin F. Davis, 84 of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at his residence comforted by family. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Chaplain Mark Westrich officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to services. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Marvin was born April 22, 1931 in Sioux City to Floyd L. and Flossie (Heiner) Davis. He received his education in the Sioux City Public Schools. He married Delores J. Himes on February 24, 1950 at the Whitfield United Methodist Church in Sioux City, where Marvin was also baptized. While in Sioux City, Marvin worked for Wayne Roberts as a mechanic and Guarantee Oil for seven years before the couple moved to La Habra, California in 1959. Marvin worked for the Fullerton Union High School District as a Maintenance Supervisor for 27 years. While in La Habra, the couple attended the First Christian Church. The couple moved back to Sioux City in 1989 for Marvin's retirement, and continued to attend the First Christian Church in Sioux City. Marvin is survived by his wife Delores of Sioux City; children Karma Holmes and her husband Richard of Laveen, AZ, Gerald Davis and his wife Carrie of Graham, WA, and Kathy Martin and her husband David of Parkdale, OR; sisters Bernita Baker and Connie Miinten, both of Sioux City; grandchildren Heather (Josh) Reynolds, Adam (Brigette) Holmes, Andrew (April) Lara, Kristin (Adam) Abrams, Tristen Kiilehua, and Nichella Peterson; great-grandchildren Clorinda and Malaki Holmes, Cooper and Parker Abrams, and Brinna and Addyson Lara; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Audrey Trobraugh and her husband Gene, and infant baby brother Gerry.
