Ann M. Bell, 75 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at a local care facility after a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Church of the Nativity. Private family burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday with the family present from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. and there will be a rosary service at 4:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Ann was born January 8, 1940 in Cedar Falls, IA; she was the daughter of James and Caroline (Rauch) Rainbow. Ann grew up in Waterloo, IA and graduated from Briar Cliff College with a BA in education in 1962. She married Dick Bell July 13, 1963 in Waterloo, IA. Ann was a devoted parochial school teacher for many years and then was an administrative assistant at Bishop Heelan High School for 19 years retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity and NEA of Iowa. Ann did volunteer work for Mercy Medical Center and Trinity Heights. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life and she loved to spend time with them. Ann was also a Notre Dame fan. Survivors include her husband Dick of Sioux City; 3 children: Suzanne Kirwan and her husband Dan of Blair, NE and their children, Julia, Ian, Nolan and Sophia; Kathryn Norys and her husband Ron of Atlanta, GA and their children Meghan, Nicholas and Nathan; Michael Bell and his wife Teresa of Sioux Falls and their children Noah and Abi; a sister: Jane McKenna and her husband DR. Robert McKenna of Minneapolis, MN, a brother: Patrick Rainbow and his wife Jean of Minneapolis, MN.; a sister in law, Evelyn Marsh of Sioux City Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James and Caroline Rauch. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Bishop Heelan Endowment Fund.
