Dave Johnson Sr. went home with the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the age of 67. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, where the family will be present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and a vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com "Dave" was born November 13, 1947 in Viborg, South Dakota the son of Ardis (Anderson) and Ernst Dale Johnson. He was raised in Centerville, South Dakota attending country schools and then graduating Centerville High School in 1966. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served the next 4 years as a Military Police Sgt. Dave moved to Sioux City, Iowa where he met the love of his life, Alicia (McNamara), the couple were joined in marriage on July 22, 1983, at Elk Point, South Dakota. This union was blessed with 4 beautiful children. Dave worked as a truck mechanic, and truck driver for 42 years. He was a proud and loving Papa of Jenni, Jace, Jordin, Justin Zoey, and Kairon. When he wasn't entertaining his grandchildren, He was enjoying life with his loving wife, and best friend, Alicia. You rarely saw them apart, she worked with him to pour driveways and sidewalks, also helped with his mechanic work. Dave was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. His number one passion was working on cars and teaching his grandsons the skills of a mechanic. He was also a sports enthusiast, cheering on the Hawkeyes and Vikings. He thorough enjoyed being able to attend a Minnesota Twins game with his son David. Left to honor his name, with Alicia is his two sons, Jeffrey David Johnson (Christina) and David Allen Johnson Jr. both of Sioux City. Also Jessica Johnson Weber (Sam), and Krista Raye Johnson both of Sioux Falls South Dakota. He was preceded death by his parents. Dave was a loving and understanding Father to his four children, one of his greatest moments was walking his daughter down the aisle and seeing his children advance with their careers and their beautiful families. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that all gifts be in the form of memorial donations to a fund in Dave's name at Great Western Bank.
