Allan J. Dykstra, 67 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

Allan was born April 15, 1948 in Orange City, IA; he was the oldest son of Jake and Walburga “Bea” (Miller) Dykstra. Allan grew up in Alton and graduated from Spalding High School in Granville, IA. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air National Guard for 20 years. Allan was also an equipment painter at various manufacturing plants in the Sioux City area.
Allan enjoyed his Harley motorcycle, fishing, going to the shooting range and spending time with his grandchildren.
Allan married Roberta Stivers and had two sons and later divorced. Then in 1977 he married Sue Ronnfeldt.
Survivors included 2 sons: Jeffrey Allan Dykstra and his wife Teresa, Eric Steven Dykstra and his wife Stacey all of Des Moines, IA; his mother: Bea Dykstra of Alton, IA; his special friend Sue Dykstra of South Sioux City, NE; his brothers and sisters: Ruth Wagner (Don) of Garretson, SD, Jeff Dykstra (Glenda) of Des Moines, IA, Steve Dykstra (Deanna) of Horton, MI, Sheila Woodard (Robert) of Alton, IA, Alicia Beltman of Sheldon, IA; 4 grandchildren: Crystal Dykstra, Hunter Dykstra, Drew Yeager and Mason Dykstra. Allan is also survived by his best friend and companion, his dog, Mike.
Allan was preceded in death by his father.
