Eunice E. Heeringa

        Eunice E. Heeringa, 86, of Sioux City died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at her residence following a brief illness.

     Private graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

      Mrs. Heeringa was born March 10, 1930, in Worthington, M.N., the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth (Ramerth) Hussong. As a child and teenager, she attended Okabena, Minnesota schools. She was Salutatorian of her high school Senior class. Following graduation, she attended one year of college before she married Kenneth D. Heeringa on Nov. 15, 1949 in Las Vegas, N.V. She was a beloved wife and mother.

       Survivors include her three sons, Kirk of Lawrence, K.S., Kent and his wife, Shelly of Venice, C.A., and Kraig of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter, Kim and her husband, Ernesto of Tallahassee, F.L.; two sisters, Patricia Volk of A.Z. and Carol Leopold and her husband, William of M.N.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

       She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Heeringa.
