SIOUX CITY | James Ronald “Jim” Anderson, 67, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at a local hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12th at the funeral home.

Jim was born August 26, 1950 in Slayton, MN to Benjamin M. and Louise L. (Klinker) Anderson. Following high school graduation he served with the U.S. Marine Corps. On Nov. 11, 1974 he married Carol R. Keene in Elk Point, SD.
Jim retired from Ace Sign Co. in So. Sioux City, NE. Prior to that he worked in maintenance at John Morrell for many years.
He loved fishing and was an avid bowler. In his younger years he was a good athlete. Jim was a Twins and Vikings fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Midas and Jade.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; daughter, Gina (Dan) Roupe of W. Des Moines, IA; grandsons, Justin Anderson of Garden City, Idaho and Jon (Emily) Roupe of Fairfax, IA; sister, Jeanne (Dan) Harry of Sioux City; brothers William D. (Betty) Anderson of Sioux City, IA and Jerry M. Anderson of Correctionville, IA; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lowell B. Anderson; and a niece, Amy Harry.
