Elizabeth "Betty" Monroe Neville, 87, passed away on Friday, October 20th, 2017, at Good Samaritan in Holstein, Iowa, where she was a resident for 13 years.
Services will be held at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 27th, 2017, with visitation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Burial rites will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City.
Betty was born August 28, 1930, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Leroy and Anna (Whalen) Monroe. She attended Ida Grove High School. Betty married Harvey Neville on March 1, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. Harvey and Betty were the parents of six children, all raised in Sioux City.
Betty is survived by 3 sons; Greg Neville of Omaha, NE; Francis (Sally) Neville; and Ed Neville of Sioux City, IA; 2 daughters; Judy (Paul) Harker of Sioux City, IA; and Colleen Loza of Norfolk, NE; 4 brothers; Tom Monroe of Phoenix, AZ; Dean Monroe of Spencer, IA; Dennis (Mary) Monroe of San Diego, CA; Michael (Mary) Monroe of Spencer, IA; 2 sisters; Regina Hupke of Des Moines, IA; Janice McGuire of Holstein, IA; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and the loving staff at Good Samaritan in Holstein, whom she considered her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving son, Jimmy; 2 brothers; Gene and Ronald Monroe; 2 sisters; Geraldine Brinkman and Barb Victor.
