George Edward Williams III, 64, of Sioux City passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at a local hospital, surrounded by his children and loved ones.
George was born July 15, 1953 in Sioux City, the son of George J. Williams Jr. and Maryln "Babe" (Bottolfson) Williams. He graduated from Central High School. George married Sandy Harmon in 1971 and to this union, two daughters: Shawn and Heather, were born. The couple later divorced. He married Sheryl Schulte in 1976 and to this union, two children: George IV and Tara were born. George married Victoria Lewis in 1990 and to this union, one daughter: Samantha was born, and George became a step father to Bruce and Katie.
George worked as a supervisor for IBP for many years before retirement. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and teaching others how to ride, playing pool and golf, and traveling, but his greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children: Shawn Williams of Harrisburg, SD, Heather Williams of Harrisburg, George Williams IV and his girlfriend Liz Kahl of Sioux City, Tara Schon and her husband Troy Schon of Bronson, IA, and Samantha Smith and her husband Ben Smith of Omaha, NE; stepchildren Bruce Maffit and his fiancé Lisa and Katie Weinmeister and her husband Tim; George’s fiancé Rebecca Jensen and her son Jarrami Berndt and her grandson Cyrus Berndt; grandchildren: Logan Williams, Anela Schon, Kaden Smith, Nathan Smith, Brennan Smith, Katelynn DeLair, Mia Maffit, Charles Weinmeister, and Michael Weinmeister; and his siblings: Melvin Williams, Dennis Williams, Brad Williams, and Debbie Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Brian Williams, cousin Ricky Weisler, Aunt Anita Wieseler, and nephew Dennis Williams Jr.
Celebration of life services will be held on May 26th, 2018 at 4 pm at the Elks Club in Sioux City. There will also be a Memory Motorcycle Ride for him on May 26th, 2018 leaving from the Icky Nickel (in Sioux City) at 3pm. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
