Robert W. Steckelberg, 87, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, October 03, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Morningside Assembly of God.
Robert was born the son of Fred and Hazel (Theobold) Steckelberg on February 6, 1931 in Mapleton, Iowa. After his high school graduation, Robert served his country in the United States Navy, where he served in the Korean War. Robert married Elma M. Law on September 4, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Robert worked as a foreman for Bekins Distribution for 47 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, horse racing, and spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Jody and Orval Hinrichsen, daughter, Jamie; brother, Melroy; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elma; two sons, Jeff and Curtis; and great granddaughter, Lilly.
