Madonna A. “Donna” Lischke, 91 of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at a South Sioux City Care Center. Services will 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Dakota City with Rev. Sandra Braasch officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, Homer, Nebraska. There will be a lunch and time for sharing memories in the church fellowship hall following the service at the cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday with prayer service at 7 P.M. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Madonna was born February 3, 1926, in Waterbury, Nebraska the daughter of Albert E. and Inez J. (Benstead) Woods. She lived in Waterbury, Emerson and South Sioux City, Nebraska. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1943. She worked at McKesson Robbins in Sioux City, Iowa. On September 1, 1946, she married Judd O. Lischke in First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. She lived in Lincoln and worked at Norden Laboratories while Judd attended Nebraska School of Dentistry. After his graduation he joined the Army Dental Corps serving in Ft Carson, CO and Ft. Leonard Wood, MO for two years. In 1953 he purchased the office of Dr. D. M. Quimby in Dakota City where Madonna worked. Madonna was a member of Salem Lutheran Church since 1953. She had served as church secretary, and was a Sunday School teacher. She also served on the worship and music committee, the altar guild and sang in the choir. Madonna is survived by two sons: Jeffrey, James Judd “Jim” and his wife Diane of Winter Haven, Florida, a daughter Judy and her husband Bill Bennett of South Sioux City a sister Dorathe Nielsen of LeMars, Iowa, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Rev. Soriya Roeun, Bill Addison, Larry Armbright, Dick Priest, Milt Peters and Mike Tramp. In lieu of flower memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church, Hospice of Siouxland or a charity of your choice.
